Film Summary/Synopsis

In an alternate near-future world, a brutal underground fight club known as Skizm has risen to massive popularity by live-streaming real-life death matches. The participants are made up of dangerous criminals and unhinged individuals, showcasing the darkest aspects of humanity while drawing in millions of viewers online. At the center of it all is Nix, the reigning champion and one of the most wanted criminals in America. After escaping from a maximum-security facility and being declared insane at a young age, she has built a terrifying reputation, racking up dozens of kills and becoming the most successful competitor in Skizm history.

On the other side of this chaos is Miles, an ordinary computer programmer who suffers from severe asthma. Once driven by ambition and dreams, he now spends his days coding a shallow mobile game designed to exploit users for money. His life isn’t any better outside of work either, as his arrogant boss constantly humiliates him, and he wastes time scrolling through social media or watching mindless content. He often thinks about his ex-girlfriend Nova, even going as far as stalking her online. The only thing that gives him any sense of purpose is acting tough behind a keyboard, where he trolls strangers on the internet.

One night, while browsing online, Miles stumbles upon Skizm. Without thinking, he jumps into the live chat and begins insulting other users, just as he always does. However, this time he attracts the attention of the wrong people. After receiving some unsettling messages from a Skizm admin, he shuts his laptop and falls asleep, unaware of what’s about to happen. He is suddenly awakened by a knock at his door, only to be ambushed by Riktor, the psychotic mastermind behind Skizm, along with his crew. After being beaten and drugged, Miles wakes up to a horrifying reality—two handguns have been bolted to his hands, and he has been forced into Skizm as Nix’s next target.

Nix, who is desperate to escape the deadly game, is told she must complete one final match. When she discovers that Miles is her assigned opponent, she begins tracking him through his phone. Meanwhile, Miles struggles to adapt to his situation, barely managing simple tasks like getting dressed or using the bathroom without accidentally firing his weapons. When Nix finally tracks him down, she attacks without hesitation, forcing him to flee. He narrowly escapes by climbing down a fire escape and runs into two police officers, only to make things worse due to the guns attached to his hands. With thousands watching the live stream, Miles is thrust into a terrifying game of survival.

During his escape, he reunites briefly with Nova at a park, desperately trying to explain what’s happening. She helps him with his asthma but refuses to believe his story and panics, spraying him with mace before running away. Meanwhile, Nix grows increasingly frustrated and even destroys one of Skizm’s camera drones in a burst of anger.

Nova reports everything to the police, where Detectives Degraves and Stanton review the footage. Although there’s little they can do immediately, Degraves decides to monitor Nova closely, hoping Miles will reach out again. At the same time, Miles tries to survive on his own, scavenging clothes and seeking help from strangers. He even returns to his workplace, where a coworker temporarily disables the tracking on his phone. However, his boss once again pushes him too far, causing Miles to snap and pull his guns on him—only for Nix to arrive and escalate the situation by opening fire.

Miles escapes once more, stealing a car while Nix chases him on a motorcycle. The pursuit leads to an abandoned warehouse, where Nix briefly tries to teach him how to use a gun properly, though she still intends to kill him. Their fight is interrupted by an explosion, allowing Miles to escape yet again.

Desperate and running out of options, Miles calls Nova to say goodbye, but the call is interrupted when Riktor appears and kidnaps her. He gives Miles an ultimatum—kill Nix within a limited time, or Nova dies. With no other choice, Miles attempts to lure Nix into a trap, but the situation spirals into chaos when he accidentally stumbles into a gang confrontation. Nix arrives and unleashes destruction, but the police soon intervene, leading to Miles being captured.

While in custody, Miles learns a shocking truth from Detective Degraves. Years ago, Degraves arrested Riktor, who later retaliated by attacking his family. His wife was killed in the explosion, and his daughter—Nix—was forever changed. Degraves has been trying to save her ever since and sees Miles as a way to reach her. However, before anything can be resolved, Stanton betrays them, killing Degraves and revealing himself as part of Skizm.

With time running out, Miles tracks what he believes is Nova’s location, only to discover that Riktor has tricked him by executing his coworker instead. Devastated, Miles decides to face Nix directly. He proposes they work together, but she seemingly rejects the idea by shooting him multiple times, leaving viewers shocked.

However, it turns out to be part of a larger plan. Miles survives thanks to a bulletproof vest, and the two secretly join forces. Together, they launch an assault on Skizm’s headquarters, taking down enemies as they move deeper inside. Along the way, Miles discovers that Skizm is planning to expand globally, turning its deadly spectacle into an international empire.

As the battle intensifies, Nix fights with everything she has, ultimately sacrificing herself to give Miles a chance to confront Riktor. Meanwhile, Nova attempts to leave clues behind to help Miles find her. The final confrontation takes place on the rooftop, where Riktor holds Nova hostage and taunts Miles about his newfound fame.

Despite being severely wounded, Miles refuses to back down. He fights through the pain, enduring multiple gunshots before finally overpowering Riktor. After a brutal struggle, he pushes him off the roof, ending his reign. Riktor falls to his death, but not before declaring that Skizm will continue to grow beyond him.

Exhausted and on the brink of death, Miles collapses, hallucinating a peaceful reunion with Nova. In reality, she is horrified by everything that has happened. In the aftermath, Skizm continues to expand globally, just as Riktor had planned. Nova turns their story into a comic, while Miles survives and becomes a vigilante, dedicating himself to taking down the organization from within.
