Trap House [ 2025 ]

When I saw the film trailer, I became more curious to watch it because of Dave Batista, to be honest the guy is very talented and like him a lot whenever the guy is in the movie no matter what? I, will do whatever it takes to watch that particular movie. I, believed the movie “Trap House” is going to be amazing and praised globally so I watched, the film is good to some extent and I’m sure because of Dave Batista otherwise it would have been disappeared before hit the market worldwide.

The film storyline is good, it involves the mixture of crime, thriller, family drama and revenge. In short, the film tells a story about a single father who struggle to balance his work and raise a child. During a mission in El Paso, Texas to raid cartel stash house and possibly to capture cartel members, suddenly the mission goes wrong, one their fellow DEA agent named Manny (Angel Vasquez) lost his life, after he was shot by a sniper. He left a one kid goes by the name Jesse

After the death of Jesse’s father, during DEA mission gone wrong, Jesse is forced to leave school and move because of poor benefit package offered by federal Agency to a family members after a tragedy. To support a friend who in need of help, Cody decided to come up with a plan, first, the kids went on to steal tactical gear used by their parents during mission, then kids robbed a local trap house that Cody heard from his father. After successfully robbery, the kids sent the stolen money to a friend to help him and his mother through hard time.

The raids done by the kids in high school was well panned and nicely executed, despite being amateur robbers their distraction technique during robbery is ridiculous but made the job done. The teenagers seem to be trembling so much, despite being in battle gear, it does not mean they cannot get killed while wearing protective military grade suits but at least they should be a bit confident.

After few raids conducted by the kids, it was a matter of time before they are being discovered. Few days goes by, agent Ray was watching the tape which contain video of the raid, he discovered something His son has  shoulder problem and he likes twist it , the robber in the video is doing the same, also the way he moves, height and walk are similar to his son, agent Ray was shocked and realize his son was one among of the robbers that robbed cartel money. Despite being carefully in keeping their identity hidden but it did not take longer for their identity to be discovered by Ray, this gave Ray difficult time to make a choice either to be the best daddy or agent.

Cartel boss Cabrera became angrier and more suspicious towards his crew believed that there is a mole among them and order the death of a men who he suspect could be a mole. Later Natalie “Cartel boss sister” decide to go in El Paso, Texas to supervise their criminal empire business. Natalia sends her daughter Teresa to a school where Cody and his friends are studying, Teresa went as cartel undercover to get close to the DEA Agents kids and collect information about their parents (DEA agents) plan and uncover who are responsible for the robbery.

The film is well executed by actors Dave Bautista, Jack Champion, Sophia Lillis, Tony Dalton, Whitney Peak, Inde Navarrette, Zaire Adams, Kate del Castillo & Bobby Cannavale, their combination made their performance better and give the film a better taste even more convincing to watch it to the end, the color, sound and music are perfect according to me, also big up to director “Michael Dowse” and film writers “Gary Scott Thompson & Tom O’Connor” for their excellent work.
